Week 4

This week we learned how to do the spike shot. We also played short games at the end so that we could practice the shots in a game situation.

I found it easy to hit the ball down and over the net and got used to doing that but I struggled on how to time the jump properly so sometimes I couldn’t get the shot away because of this but I can improve on that easily.

Next week I would like to be able to improve on my shot so that I could be more efficient with the shit in a game situation and be able to help gain more points.

Week Three

Today we learned how to serve in volleyball. We practiced the technique first then we done it properly with the net and in game situations.

We played a match after this and used the three shots we have learned over the past weeks so that we could see what we needed to improve on the most.

I feel as if I done the serve well both with and without a jump. I just need to work on the accuracy of my serve because I use the right amount of power just my accuracy is slightly off.

Week Two

Today we worked more on the two types of shots we learned last week: -The set -The dig

Just like last week we also played a game so that we could improve our shots. Personally I believe that this helped me and I have improved my shots, mostly the dig. Last week I struggled with the dig but this week I feel like I did it with good accuracy and power.

I also feel that I done a lot better with the set shot this week. I can now do it with a lot of confidence that I can get it to go where it needs to. During the game I used the set shot a lot to get the ball to my teammates, also I feel that I used the shot at the right times.

Week one – Introduction to volleyball

Today we had an introduction to volley ball and learned about two types of shots: – The Set – The Dig

We also played a short game so that we could get a feel for the sport and find out what we are and what we aren’t good at.

I felt like I was good at the set shot and I feel like I can do it with good accuracy but I wasn’t that good at doing ‘The Dig’ because I couldn’t make it accurate or I hit it either too hard or too soft. I feel that over the upcoming weeks I will improve my shots and will improve all round.
